why ? ask your kids to do same and see what you feel on that night. can your kids do same ? forget about torturing or anything for a moment. Didn't you see Nupur Lala a past winner where she is now ? if she was torture for that competition she would n't be in MIT. its a competition of brain power to me.
I will never ask them to participate in the Spelling beeeeeee. Also I won't never compell my kids to always study study and Read books... . But I will encourage them to participate in extra curricular acitivities too. Please note that getting in MIT or IIT or getting a GC is not life. Let the kids enjoy their life

Can anybody answer this question - If an employer decides to port an EB3 case to EB2 for an employee not using the experience gained at the job, does the new EB2 role have to be 50% different from EB3 role?

I have questions for you before I tell you the correct answer.
- Please update your profile so that you are taken seriously.
- What did you shoplift and why?
Now my incorrect answer for the time being: Go to India and do shoplifting. You will get instant punishment. No court hassles etc. Get beaten up , cough up money to the cops and then come back. Your experience in India and USA will help you learn more. I feel the punishments in US are not harsh enough. If you have a bad habit of shoplifting and you used to do it in India then ignore the answer above and check into a rehab and request them to have you share a room with Winona Ryder. You both have something in common and you will be able to relate to each other very well.
My friend you have hit upon a very good idea. For compulsive shoplifters a similar incidence would be more than enough to rehab them for rest of the life. May I add to your recommended treatment, that the shopkeeper is still going to charge you although you may no more be in state to handle the purchase.

Hi,
Mine was similar experience like yours. I had one question:
Similar to yours, they stamped the validity on my I-94 as well as the AP papers as one year from that date, which is somewhere in March 2009 whereas my AP expires in Spet 2008, so which takes precedence, the I-94 date in 2009 or the AP expiration date?
Thx.
No issues at all. I had to wait a little longer as I was referred to a special processing Q. They just looked at my passport and the two AP copies (nor I have shown them anything more myself) I received from USCIS. They stamped on both and returned me only one copy. I-94 issued for one year from the date of entry.

You are absolutely right, Its nature and as you said and I quote nature created nature which is created by nature and so on...
And for some people to which you call nature they call it God
Just different terminology, they do the prayer of nature (for some its God) and they never judge the acts of nature (God).
I feel comfortable with these words "Nature Bless everyone" ,Not with the words like "God Bless everyone".
May be As a Hindu I'll start visualizing Shiva/Vishnu/brahma/Rama/Krishna etc.. when someone says "GOD" .For Christians they may start visualizing Jesus and Allah for Muslims.

So USCIS will never see the flowers becoz they are boxed.. and they will never get delivered becoz they are being routed from the airport itself. No major news media covered the few deliveries at USCIS.. What was the point of the campaign again?

Despite making several valid points, USCIS is merely delaying the inevitable and, in effect, increasing the cost to the agency to process these cases. The cost to complete the current backlog of over 800,000 I-130 petitions is more than $225 million today, based on USCIS cost estimates explained in its proposed fee rule. Because applicants paid for these petitions when they were submitted in previous years, their payments do not cover todays costs or future USCIS costs to process them. Each year that processing is delayed the cost to USCIS will increase if for no other reason than to account for inflation. Thus, the fact that USCIS can process each of these petitions to conclusion now and chooses by policy not to do so is fiscally unwise.
In addition, the impact on beneficiaries is significant. By statute, certain approved petitions terminated by the petitioners death are reinstated for humanitarian reasons for the petitioners beneficiaries.27 By USCIS not approving I-130 petitions in a timely manner, beneficiaries cannot benefit from this important humanitarian exception.

This posting is not to dishearten anyone but to make everyone aware of the obstacles on the path. I followed up on Science article and talked to Jim Austin, the
lead for ScienceCareer efforts of Science journal group. The baseline of my conversation goes as: there is limited funding, limited opportunities even for US born scientists, then is it wise to "import on permanent basis" scientists from abroad?Yes, it is good to have the best here, but what we (USA) require is education and training of US-born first ...
Take home message for us guys is this: These are the people the congress hears out first when they want to make policy changes. These are the people who were able to convince NIH to double its funding in 5 years time a couple of years back. These are the people who are now saying that there is no job and money for US-born, so first get more fundingand training for us citizens, before you get foreigners to carry out research ...
It is obvious that the issue is becoming more and more acrimonious, entangled with a lot of other issues - both political and economic. Unless the retrogressed are willing to take this to heart and put up an intense effort, in coming years the matter is going to get worse. Next few months could be the only ***healthy*** window of time to achieve a remedy for retrogression. Not only the economy is driving anti-highskillimmigration groups more vocal, we are slowly finding the pro-immigrant support base thinning out because of very bad fiscal situations.
great work everyone. thank you nycgal and others that took initiative and pushed this effort further. committed members like all of you in this thread help us a lot by sending emails to reporters. several letters highlighting a particular issue generates interest in reporters and media orgs and they choose to write about us. It is not easy to get even a single article published in newspapers and it is due to the efforts of our members, we are able to generate awareness. There is still a long road ahead of us and I am sure with active participation from everyone, we will surely succeed.

As per my understanding there is nothing much USCIS can do in terms of creating laws since that is what only Congress can do. Only thing that CIS can do is efficiently use the 140K visa numbers allocated. So the only issue for backlogged folks is how CIS uses the spill over numbers. Till 2007 these visa numbers went to EB3 but we still see that Eb3 is struck in 2001 levels. Where as just one year of giving it to EB2 moved them to 2006 and then brought back to 2004 levels. I feel the only help of EB3 is recapture of visa # or removal of country limits anything else will fall short of any help needed.

4.1) you can support your spouse also even after using AP (i.e H4 support)
I doubt it. When a person uses his AP, his status changes to PAROLE, hence he can't have dependents on H4 status.

Friends, my AP renewal was received by TSC on June 7th (the receipt notice says that), but the on-line status check still says Initial Review. Any body in the same boat waiting with a June 7 receipt date still pending/Intial Review? Or has your case been approved as of that date? Please let me know.
