How do you take Infopass by the way? Is it for a general status check? If so, everybody might be doing it, and there may be a long wait.

This has got to be (by far) the most humorous post I have seen here. Kudos to pani for coming up with this concept. Its about time some we saw some posts in a lighter vein. Thanks

I advice you all to walk in to ASC locations.
I went to one ASC location as walk in. They asked me to go District office where I already tried with an Infopass appointment.
Then I tried at another ASC office, and pleaded them saying my dates are current, take my FP, then I can get my GC. That officer is nice, he took our FP and they were cleared and sent to USCIS yesterday.
I will say, try in at least 2 ASCs at least twice at each ASC. Infopass is waste.
I went in the morning around 8.30 and there were only 4 people for FP and that officer took our FP after 40 min phone / PC communication.
Good luck to all.

Am i missing the point here or are you all forgetting that unless you have a future job offer, you will not get your green card.
while you can be unemployed on EAD you still need the future job offer to get your greencard and many of us got RFE to proof that we still have those.
If you go unemployed then you risk promopting the RFE and if you have no job letter your I485 will be rejected.
Also no they do not have to pay you anything beyond what is on the Labor cert paper, if they paid you more that was their prerogative, but legally they do not have to.
Be careful.
I understand you would like to be home for your wife, and believe me as a woman i appreciate man that is willing to to help like that, however make sure you do not get yourself in legal trouble with that.
Good luck :-)

There is almost no way to clear 34K for EB2I/C (PD before 07/2007) before Sept. 2011
We shall see 2010 DOS report (similar to 2009)
The total for EB2I would be about 19K, EB2C 8K
so about 27-30K max
You mean to say by end of FY2011 ?

This is what attorney said:
1. Apply for benefit, and mention that you were laid off (?). Labor department will call your employer to verify whether you were laid of for misconduct, or for other reason. Based on that information, DOL should grant you benefit, but since it is an unusual case he doesn't know for sure.
2. Call USCIS hotline, and explain them your situation. they might consider your case.

"You are not eligible for F-1 after you have filed for I-140." Sorry to disappoint - Good Luck
Changing the status when someone is on EAD makes sense but I am not quite getting when you say that "you are not eligible for a F1 vis anymore as I filed for I-140". I am in the status of 140 approved and waiting for the dates to become current. I am planning for fulltime MBA next fall. Don't you think I am not eligble for applying forF1 visa at all in the first place? I am sorry if I am asking you to repeat the same statement you made. I am just shocked after reading this thread because I am all set to apply for business schools for a fulltime MBA.

As per Murthy's AILF article, they expect such cases to be fully successful.
I also heard from my friend's law firm about the same.
Hope for the best.

One of my friend who joined Microsoft in Seattle is having her AC21 filed. I don't know the name of the law firm.
I am thinking some law firms favor this in order to make extra money as filing fee for AC21
Some lawyers like Murthy and Rajiv Khanna are in favor of sending AC21 notifications whereas Fragomen and Ron Gotcher are against it.
Its better to go with the new companys lawyer as they will take care of any potential RFE's in future.
I invoked AC21 and my new companys lawyer did send the notification.

Hi,
There are many regional(i know indian) food blogs out there on the internet to which many people visit on a regular basis. If we can convince some of the blog owners to consider a small post linking our website, I think many people will join the group.
I have mailed to one such fabulous lady and hope to hear from her soon.
I will update if she replies.
Thanks.

Check out this google spread sheet I have created. It has just data and I would like some brainstorming analysis. Data looks interesting for NSC.
http://spreadsheets0.google.com/ccc?key=pc7r_IoPSQd0LpUOTh490EA&hl=en_US
1.The dates in VB did not move much from Sep 06 to May 07. I did not collect pre sep 06 data.
2.140 / 485 moved very slowly inspite of no movement in VB. which means lesser people filed and theoritically it should be faster processing by NSC. Yes I did not consider other trivial processing like AP / EAD.
3. If the above holds true for June 07 and July 07, then no matter how much VB moves, the NSC / TSC processing of 485 is going to slow down once it reaches June 2007 and it is going to come to grinding halt if it reaches July 2007. This may be for years if what USCIS claims as resource shortage for such processing delays.
4. The worst news is the people who have stuck in Backlog centers. With having their PD In 2001 and 2002, they are unfairly sent to the back of the line and stuck in 485 processing for ever.
As IV, we have to raise our voice for those backlogged labor fellows and bring some justice to them. I do not know how, but at least we should try. They should not be left behind for none of their faults.
Dude these points have already been discussed in other threads....
Most of the people agree...but everybody was more interested in filing I485...rather than understanding how painful EAD/AP renewal will be going forward..
