Her husbands employer doesn't offer insurance. He's not in IT so I don't think he earns a big salary from what I've seen. Initially when they looked for insurance it would cost them about $800 just for the wife he said.
If you find a Desi doctor, you may talk to him/her and see if they can help. I have seen lots of undocumented go to Desi/Latino doctors and they charge a reasonable amount (Cost) not whole lot like you get on insurance bill.
I have heard some Desi Doc's does this kind of valuable help in Houston, TX

I agree with forming a physician's chapter.
We should contact senators who have involved in J-1 waiver rules in the Senate or house. Brownback and Conrad are two well known names.
I propose we suggest to them get physicians NIW to exempt from cap.

RANT WARNING
If you dont have an EAD, and your H1 B case is filed and is waiting for apporval, you wont have a your license during that period, I am one that is in that situation. I talked to the DMV folks but they wont accept the H1 B extension receipt , they need the I - 797, so basically i cannot drive for next 2 months. A couple of member suggested it was very easy for them, i guess i am being targeted :)
As of now i feel really privileged staying here :mad:, no license, no green card, been here for past 10 years and have a post graduate degree from a US university. I guess even if you are good professionally and academically it does not matter, so much for truth, honesty , liberty and pursuit of happiness !!

What is the government acheving from this. Everyone who is legal comes with a visa.
If anyone wants to break the law or disappear he or she is not going to fill in AR-11.
How is it different from asking jews to report where you lived in Nazi germany.
Considering all the vanity of freedom and liberty in USA, doesn't AR-11 violate any constitutional right or law ? Please comment.
I was seeing Gandhi somedays back, and the scene where they burn passes that non-whites were required to carry in S.Africa moved me.

I am also in the same situation. My EAD will expire in mid-Sept 2010 and my H1-B expired in July 2010. I just sent the application for EAD today (Aug 13). I called my lawyer to see if I could get a new H1-B through premium processing and was told that I would have to go out of the country and return back in using my new H1-B and that in effect would cancel my green card process. Her advice was to just wait for the EAD renewal to come and stop working after mid-Sept. I have been working for the same employer for the last 6 years.
You said that you called USCIS today to expedite the process. Are you referring to EAD or h1-B. If it is for EAD how did you do it? Has it worked? Have you received the EAD card?
If you have valid Advance Parole, then you can travel out of country when your I-485 is pending. Otherwise, if you are not on a valid H1-B it might be considered abundening I-485.
However, if you have applied to Texas service center, you might get it in 1 month. Once you are nearing your EAD expiry ask HR to give you a letter stating that you might have to halt the employment in absence of new EAD. And, then u can fax a letter to USCIS for EAD expidition and use that letter as supporting document. I requested expideted processing after 64 days and they honored it and ordered for card production. I am right now waiting for the card.
Do not consider my advice as legal advice. It is just sharing of my experience.

They had a court in the jail, and the officer there told me that if I plead no contest I can go home immediately, if I plead not guilty I have to spend time in jail until I find a lawyer to argue my case. He said that PIs dont go into the record. .
In this country, never plea anything without consulting a lawyer first. This is eapecially important with us prospect immigrants.

The important part is solving the issue, making the agencies efficient and accountable for not clearing name checks on time, not processing on time, and not wasting visas every year.
Forget about it, even the reporting provision was stripped out from the final version of consolidated appropriations act, 2008 signed by the President.

The question that needs to be asked in responding to this kind of attack is: Why would an American firm be so interested in hiring an immigrant. It's not because they love immigrants, or because they pay immigrants less (there is cvlearly no way of getting around that with the Labor certification process), it's because the immigrant is better skilled than available Americans, and will add more value to the company.
It all comes down to what is best for the company. For American companies to compete they need to have the best available talent, not just the best available American born talent.
It's no different than professional sports teams. There are plenty of US born basketball players, so why would a team sign a Dirk Novitsky or Yao Ming? Because they want want the best talent available.

Yes, I too applied for EAD for my daughter who is 3 yrs old during July fiasco,and got EAD and applied for SSN based on EAD , got SSN.

You should get the Receipt number in about 7 days via US mail. Once you get a receipt number, send an email to: E-Filing.Support@dhs.gov including your receipt number. You will get the pdf document in an email within 1 day.
Attach a copy of that to your supporting documentation and mail them to the address indicated in the pdf document.
EAD is a very straightforward application - Nothing to get worried.

I have recently read through the entire section of the DREAM Act as it it included in the Comprehensive Immigration Reform bill proposed by Menendez. I work in Finance but deal with legal jargon quiet a bit and in my opinion the Bill included all-inclusive (catch-all) language and did not specify that to benefit from the act one had to have entered the US illegally. I have confirmed this with a law buddy of mine who read through the bill pe rmy request. It would see that if you were brought into the US before you were 16, have lived here for at least 5 years, were of good moral character, and either attended/enrolled in College or the Military you would be eligible for a green card regardless if you entered the country legally or illegally.
In my opinion the DREAM Act should be a catch-all. It is unfair to grant amnesty to illegal children and deny children of legal immigrants who have been suck on student visas waiting for something to change. Please feel free to correct me if you read through the Act.
I hope the bill passes, either through CIR or as a stand-alone bill.

If she has a 797, then the new I94 should kick in after the I94 issued at POE expires after two days, so she should be fine.
This is just my guess, though, so do check with your lawyer. These things are important and it is not a good idea to rely on boards for advice.. a qualified lawyer is the best source.

Matt's shots struck me as having too much contrast, but assumed that was because they were processed for newspaper use. Maybe it is because they are sharper. I think I need to be more aggressive in my post processing and realize that these are not flowers. I also need to practice a lot more. These results are from three hours of serious BB shooting. Buying a 1d body can't be the solution to everything. Give me some time. I'll figure it out.
