Morrally employer will charge if you just graduated from the university. Employers can't pay for people who are working on high percentage and who don't care for them.
Since they have no clue when u will leave, they might have charged u
I worked for a fortune 30 company who sponsored me. But when i left with in some time, i paid legally 4000+ $ for the employer as H1 B expense which DOL said it is OK.
Ur employer can show some tricky things.
Also , he has blessed u anewlife with H1B and would have provided lot of benefits like training, accomodation, some addl stuff.
U should be thankful to your employer. If everyone reports to DOL about employers, then we Indians, called Desi employers and we all of us will go back to india and there no more GC Backlog
Zeroes, becareful while reporting to DOL. U might have done some things which can count against you if your employer wishes.

This issue was raised during the elections that this kind of intrusion is not permissible in a secular democratic country. The commission was mainly planning to go to Gujarat and write a report. It would have given more credence to the secular mafia in India.

USCIS didn't respond to a single question. It is same old crap about visa numbers. Useless to discuss this. Illiterate Indian politicians answer better than USCIS:D
You should have read the questions people asked in the blog. Even you would have thought that these people are illiterates and its better to copy paste the law guidelines to them. So basically USCIS is telling such people who flood the blogs with comments to first go home and read the law guidelines and then argue with them.
And for those who were begging, it was shameful. I would never beg for a greencard. If you really want to beg, go in front of USCIS office and beg. Let us see if you really meant what you wrote?

Dear All,
This is indeed a welcome step!
First of all entering a country illegally is wrong. It is a crime. After committing an illegal act, seeking protection by talking about civil rights, liberty etc is absolutley unfair. Every country has a right to enforce its borders.
Will it be ok if 10 million Pakistanis enter India, stay and work illegally? Please pause to think. Let us be fair!
Might is not right! Just because the illegals have a HUGE NO. they are arm twisting the government and also holding people like you and I to ransom. They are the ones who are preventing anything good happening to us. I am least bothered about what they do, till it affects the legal immigrants.
Why should we fall under the ambit of the CIR? In what way did we violate the process? The issue is simple ---> The illegals have all the money,muscle and vote power but 0% of the law on their side! In our case we have neither the money, nor the muscle or vote power, but have 100% of the law on our side.
I only hope Arizone wins the major legal battle too!

One minute. I am confused.
Can an H4 start working WITHOUT an H1B if their Labor and I-140 gets approved through the GC process????
My Husband has still some time left on his H1 before his 6 years is up (because of the new memo uscis has given decoupling H1 and H4) I'm trying to find a way to extend his H1 beyond 6 years(he doesn't have a LC pending on his name for 365 days)

An alert reader sent me the following this morning. Miriam Jordan of the WSJ is reporting
Looking to resolve a messy immigration tangle, the U.S. government is close to announcing that it will accept at least some applications for work-based green cards that were filed by thousands of skilled workers in early July at the government's invitation and then abruptly rejected.
This would be hugely disappointing news if true and, according to a source, this was NOT the deal on the table over the weekend. It also will fail to address the three crises facing USCIS:
- fighting multiple lawsuits including at least two class action matters
- staving off congressional hearings and the release of embarrassing documents
- answering press inquiries over why USCIS skipped security clearances during a time when the US is under threat of a major terrorist attack
One would hope that common sense would outweigh USCIS' anti-immigrant instincts. Like an addict that's out of control, it's time for an intervention.

If fee increase not happens then gc candidates may be impacted as CIS may not have enough fund and delay will be there in processing. So those who are opposing should be ready to accept delay in processing.
.. the employer is supposed to pay all fees related to the Green Card process. Now that may not be the reality out there as there are lots of Desi Companies that might ask the employee to pay for all the fees. So as an individual, by opposing this move, you are essentially saying USCIS, that you are paying for this fees. Now it is a different story, if a representative from your company opposes this move.

the best is to expand the SS payers, and make sure that the expanding workpforce don't collect. So you get young, innocent and hard working "math whiz" who lack social skills (by which they'll find the truth earlier). and when 6 years are up, bye bye.
that is why there is no quota on h1b, while there is on GC.... because they don't really want white people coming on h1b. white people come from countries who have SS treaties with the US. even if they work here for a couple of months, they take those credits with them to their home countries.
There is an unrealistic quota on GC for countries with huge populations i.e. India and China, even though they know that the bulk of immigrants are from those countries. All in the name of "diversity". Hey, if I was a citizen of a Scandinavian country, my govt. takes care of me from birth to death. Why the heck would I want to come and toil in the US for about the same benefits I'm going to get because of my birth anyway.
Of late Europe's adopting the same strategy as US because its's worker population is falling and somebody has to pay for freebies. So they open the doors to Indian and Chinese workers by giving blue(?) card and all of us think that they are recognizing our merit by "inviting" us to work there. :rolleyes:
How about undocumented workers who end up contributing to social security too? Even though the SS numbers they use are fake, they are still paying into the coffers of Soc. Security, but won't stand to get back a dime of that. Hmm...makes me think who are the leechers here...the "natives" or the "aliens"?
