The lawmakers in the senate, I believe, have already left for the easter break. If, I am correct, last year, senate was already negotiating the bill, at this time and left for easter break without finalizing. However, this year the story is entirely different. Nobody have even INTRODUCED the bill yet in the senate. As, per Harry Reid, the senate is gonna discuss the bill, in the last two weeks of May. But the question, I have is within this six weeks, would it be possible for the senate to table a bill, negotiate it ine the senate judiciary committee and bring it to vote in the senate?

Sadly, 140 dates have moved backward instead of forward at TSC. Now they are processing July 19, 2007 140's as of April 15. As of March 15, they were processing August 15, 2007. Amazing how these people "work".

I have the same question How come the i-140 dates have moved backward??

Not all protesters in a rally are victims. There are people who support the victims. So by signing onto the rally the person essentially expresses support for the victim. We can always have a country that says "America". We can always have one ip address = one person.
The great idea but again how to create the legitimacy of the authenticity of the numbers? For an example, Total real number affected is 300000 then first problem is to bring all those 300000 to make their signature on that web page. Another problem is to create the legitimacy about that number to normal American citizen. Questions like if one person has signed 10 times this web page under different "Avatars" then perception is 10 people affected but in reality only one is affected.... If we can produce solutions for this basic gray areas then yes it is a great idea and may fly.

Could some members share their knowledge on H1B visa extension interviews in India.
- what dates are available now/how much is the wait time
- Any experiences during the interview. questions etc
- documents generally requested by the officer
It will help all members planning to go to India for getting the visa stamped.

Thanks for the info Gravitation. I Plan on getting a H-4 Visa in India. I have two other questions and would be thankful if you have any insights for them.
The alternative option I was thinking about was to wait and not take the H-4 visa appointment. Instead wait till we(me and my husband) get the advanced parole documents and once I receive them then myHusband can FedEx those documents to me in India and then I can enter USA using those advanced parole document. Is this better than using aH-4 Visa? Does it even matter to AOS Process if I enter USA on AP or H-4 visa?
The other question I had was about finger printing notice. Lets say both I and my Husband got the fingerprint notice tomorrow with an appointment date of October 23rd . Let say that I cannot come to USA by 23rd then what are the options available for finger printing? Can I call USCIS from India and request a different date(postpone it to a date later than OCt23rd)? What is the dealine to make the request(By when should I make the call to USCIS?)
Thanks for your help.

Thanks a lot for all your opinions. This forum was really helpful.
Dan,
I am no expert but I believe you got this query because you did not include reference letters along with your labor application. For example if the job requires 2 years of of java experience then you need to include letters proving that you have worked in java for 2 years and thus you are the suitable person for the position.

It was her husband's wish that her daughter study in US.
Although she would love to follow his wishes, she does not want to do anything illegal and wants to return only if everything is valid.
I am sure everyone understand her position given all that she has had to go through.
Her kid is a citizen.
I will follow your advice on contacting the renowned immigration attorney on her behalf.

I tried to give you green for your post but it doesn't allow me it says "you have to spread reputation before ..." anyway i don't understand this message either.
1. CPO mail (usually email): Card Production Ordered email: an email from USCIS that states that they have ordered the production of your green card - meaning that your I 485 is approved and card production is ordered; usually takes 1-2 weeks after that email to receive physical card.
2. SLUD: Soft LUD (LUD = Last updated date). means that your case in your USCIS portfolio (the one that you create online under my case status) shows that your case was last updated on date so and so, but actual status stays the same (like initial review, RFE, etc). This does not generate SMS or email message for update of case (if you signed up for it under your portfolio). Generally means that someone touched your file.
3. HLUD: Hard LUD (LUD = Last updated date). means that your case in your USCIS portfolio (the one that you create online under my case status) shows that your case was last updated on date so and so, and actual status also changes (like move from initial review to decision or document production etc). This generates SMS or email message for update of case (if you signed up for it under your portfolio). this generally means a significant action on your case (like denial, approval, RFE etc).
4. SR: Service request: this is created by calling USCIS customer service number in case when your case is out of regular processing time or you think something is wrong with the case and needs to be looked at. Once you create it, they respond in a matter of few days with a letter.
5. Infopass: appointment at local USCIS office to get info on your case. go to infopass.uscis.gov for more info. This is a free appointment with immigration officer at local office to discuss your case.
6. 2nd level IO: no longer possible to do this since POJ method does not work (dont worry about this...)

Eberth: Wha', the old one above? :)
Actually Ilyas, when i look at Dudemans footer, I see a cut-out of a crystal picture, Probably altered the Hue/Sat on that layer, added a black box over the center and altered it's opacity, THEN added the grid via a pattern he made (EASY as hell those grids), and deleted the top part of the grid, altered the grid's opacity too. Then added the text on layers of their own, rendered them to get rid of vectors, and stroked them with a 1 px line (black),
Am I close Dudeman?? :P

Guys
If I have the LIN Number ,can I print the I797 online.
NO
I-797 is printed on the official US gov paper. H1B is the property of the employer although you are entitled to get a copy from the employer. And employer's (usually) have no interest to hold on to the originals....they usually send it to the recipient....if the employer is holding it, something is not right there....smell fishy!!!

My company tells these ppl that they would not inform USCIS for about 3 months so as to give these ppl time to find a different employer.
I think not informing USCIS is worthless. However, informing USCIS means something.
They do not pay in this time frame so I am not sure if this could get a person in trouble about the legal status during these three months.
I think 1 month period starts after the last pay check.
