It's good to extend H1. On the other side, my wife got visa for her parents on EAD. So that's not a concern.

Hi,
I recently graduated from a MBA program and have found a job with a top Management consulting firm, very interested in it. But, my I-485 is still pending, nearly 3 years now(I-140 approved). Not sure what my options are, would like to use EAD/AC21, but jobs are different (am a business systems analyst in my current role).
I will also be speaking with my immigration lawyer, but would appreciate your response/advice.

Unfortunately even USCIS does not know that. When your second i-140 is approved you usually have to inform uscis that you want to port. Otherwise USCIS does not know that.
Somebody can put a FOIA request to know this info but it may take a long long time.

Did he has recent pay stubs?
Was he on bench and not getting paid?
Many times, people don't share the real reason for denial.
I dont know the real reason for denail. I just know they ccalled his employer and told that since there are so many USA workers looking for job so they should hire a american first.

I would assume that you may have issues if you receive an RFE on your 485 with regards to your employment. You current employer will have to provide information and AC21 related documents.
If you don't get an RFE or the RFE is not related to any employment related questions, then you should be fine.
Again, I am not an attorney and therefore cannot be 100% certain. But that is my understanding from dealing with my attorney. You are better off having a short conversation with your attorney about this. I do that all the time.

My license actaully expires in May, 2014. My temporary status printed on the driver license expires this month. (which was determined based on my EAD expiry date). I am not planning to renew EAD soon.
I got a letter from Texas Department of Public Safety saying
"A review of our records indicates yor temporary visitor status expires on 09/21/2010. To avoid cancellation of your Texas driver license you must visit your local driver license office and provide the proof that your lawful status in this country has been extended for a minimum of six months. Failure to comply will result in the cancellation of your Texas driver license effective 11/05/2010.

I blame the Hispanic caucus, not Obama, for this mess. If they had not insisted "it is my way or highway" i.e either CIR or no deal, DREAM could have been enacted long time back. Gutierrez should blame himself and his caucus and not blame Obama for enforcing the law.
Yes Gutierrez was actively fighting against piecemeal. Only in recently times he climbed down to piecemeal that too only for Dream Act...but it was too late. Gutierrez and La Raza was responsible for derailing SKIL bill and Dream Act long back.

Gutierrez was facing tremendous pressure from other Hispanic lobby for his anti-piecemeal stance as they wanted dream act to be out of way. So he was trying to reduce pressure. Had dream act passed, they would have gone back to his older strategy of waging trench warfare by going for "all or nothing" and held skilled immigrants hostage for the final battle of mass amnesty. Passing of dream act would have been disastrous for skilled immigrants.

I just went to India last month on 28th for visa stamping.
It was very good experience. I had purchased VFS coupons for 200 INR so that I can stay relax, put my luggage in clock room, have a snack.
They took us to US consulate in BUS. After security check and fingure print, I waited for name to be called. They called my name after half an hour. I was prepared for interview. But all he said - your visa is granted. He didn't ask me single question or not asked me to show any document.
On same day, I went to VFS office and stood in line from 4 p.m. . Finally they started giving passport at 5. I got mine around 5.30.
Whole experience was too good.

If you get appointment and not able to submit documents on time your case will come as no show up and it will take 2 business days to after your original appointment to have receipt activited. You will need to go to VFS office and actviate receipts again.
I am assuming that this is in Mumbai since Chennai does not collect docs in advance (atleast till Nov 1, 2007).

That is true, when the OCI scheme was introduced; they allowed minor kids to get OCI even if both parents are Indians. Within 6 months they changed the rules.
As of last month, the OCI cards issued to those minor kids during those first 6 months are not being allowed to renew their OCIs. CGI-NY recommends applying for a fresh PIO card instead (by paying regular fee for a fresh PIO card).
There is a new announcement on the merging of PIO and OCI. Hopefully they will allow renewals soon. I do know few Indian families are able to renew their OCIs from CGI-NY, but the CGI-NY is no longer accepting renewal of OCIs for minors whose both parents are Indians.

Shortly after my colleagues and I introduced our amendments, the President announced a proposal for increased border security funding. Unfortunately, our border security amendments failed in the Senate, but we will continue to work toward providing the tools, manpower, and resources needed to protect our border.
We have a broken immigration system that is not fair to those who are waiting to enter the country through the legal channels, or to the American people who live by the rule of law. We need fundamental reform of our visa policy, our temporary worker program, our identification systems, our family unity laws, and so much more.
We have the 21st century technology to make our safety and security a reality. It is the responsibility of the federal government to fix our broken immigration system and to secure our borders. This is a duty that I take very seriously. You may be certain that I will keep your views in mind immigration reform is considered in the Senate.

Not true. These people will not change because they are paid to do this. kumarc123 says the same thing over and over again. He has nothing to add but he visits IV everyday and says the same thing. I see him posting only in negative threads. Why do you think that is?
Few months back I spoke with a core member. I have emailed them several times asking them to make IV paid only site. There is no other way. But they have not responded. First of all a group of people are sticking out their neck for us. But this group of bad people are creating fake ids to trash the only organization working for me. No one stands up against these bad people creating fake ids. I am losing hope.
Contrary to you I appreciate the fact that not everything here is donor only, and people like you and me can discuss things with respect.
I do however disagree with the tone some people have chosen to use and again I did not mean you.
And yes I also was talking to the couple of guys out there who today used curse words and other things when it was not necessary
Still i dont believe cutting everyone off is the best way of solving this problem, maybe the power of some core users to delete these threads and bann those users might be.
Anyway we all have our views and we might differ, that doesnt mean we cannot talk about them peacefully.

I dont see any reason why there shouldn't be any plan about the second rally. Though not seriously working on it, but some thing should be framed up so that in the Sept 18 rally they could discuss about this and spread the message and look for another event to meet. Nothing wrong in some people giving a thought about it while the whole lot is actively participating for the first rally.

Hello all,
I just wanted to share you a good news. My ead is set to expire on Jan 15,2009. I applied for EAD renewal after reading a lot of horror stories for renewal on this site and other sites. I applied on Sept 24,2008 (paper filed with lawyer) and posted that on the same day.
The RD for it is on 25 sept,2008 and I received CPO on 30 sept,2008
Here is my question to Gurus. did the new database create wonders for US(CIS)?
u just lucky ..nothing else...u database merging magic.
My wife is waiting for her EAD since 6 months now. I applied my EAD on 9/11, nothing yet. So u just got lucky, like many 2006 files who got lucky with 485 approvals.
