I had the same problem. The A# on my approved I-140 was different from the A# on my I-485 receipt. I took an InfoPass appointment, and explained the situation to the IO. They noted my information down and said that they would contact the appropriate service center via email, and would call me back once they received a response from the service center.
A week later I got a call from the IO I had met with, and they informed me that the service center responded saying that they will merge the two A#s and send me a letter stating the same. Three days later I received a letter in the mail from the service center stating that they will let me know what the subsequent A# is. Until then, I'm just going to go with the A# on my I-485 receipt. This is what the IO at the local office advised as well.
I must say I was pleasantly surprised that I actually heard back from both the IO and the service center. I wasn't counting on it...

3. Alternate Chargeability: A person may be charged to his spouse country of birth e.g. an Indian Eb2 may be charged to his Pakistani wife - Pakistani country quota if his wife was born in Pakisthan. However if his kid is born in UK he cannot claim UK chargeability. This is also a DOS narrow interpretation of the law. EB applicants with US citizen children can file this lawsuit to charge their applications to USA quota which does not have a queue and the whole Hispanic community and Obama will be willing to fight the lawsuit against your behalf.

Incorrect. Law allows chargeability for country for birth for Spouse only.

his spouse, the foreign state to which such alien is chargeable
may, if necessary to prevent the separation of husband and wife,
be determined by the foreign state of the spouse he is
accompanying or following to join, if such spouse has received or
would be qualified for an immigrant visa and if immigration
charged to the foreign state to which such spouse has been or

Karthik,
Is your EAD Xn application filed by your lawyer or yourself. I am asking this question because, if the application is filed by one's lawyer and the applicant request the expedited request(instead through his lawyer), it may result in RFE etc.,
Its filed by the lawfirm...

Is is deducted from salary or he has given you receipt for that?
As I understand, employer has to pay, but in consulting business, people are paying from own pocket to get opportunity. I have heard that in recent past, it has become common practice.
Was there any mutual agreement?
Here is a pointer stating legal fee is not responsibility of employer. I had the same impression.

H1B fee includes: Filing + Training + Fraud
Why USCIS accepts personal fining check? But does not accept Training part as personal check.
there are no written agreements or no reimbursement.

you should never lie find a lawyer that will help you out and in all applications there is a place to explain so you should be ok. Hello Gurus,
My I-140 is approved and was waiting to file for 485. I might be losing my job in June 07. From visiting the forums, I can see that it is not as bad l, as I can port my 140 and get 3 year extensions. But my problem is I recently got arrested for public intoxication. I had a few drinks and thought that i should not drive, so slept in the car. The police woke me up and arrested me for parking the car in a private place and sleeping and charged me with PI. They let me go off at 1100 Am next day. Was in jail for 5 hours. They had a court in the jail, and the officer there told me that if I plead no contest I can go home immediately, if I plead not guilty I have to spend time in jail until I find a lawyer to argue my case. He said that PIs dont go into the record. I searched for my name in Court records, intellius and did not find any arrest record. How far are these internet searches reliable I dont know.. So on my next application for employment should I say yes, for the question: have you ever been arrested? Is it going to affect my job application? or the green card process? Please help with information. Thank you.

Friends,
I filed the paper EAD renewal. Its been 5 weeks since I received the receipt. Have you all waited so long for renewals to be approved?
In the 765 renewal app I have answered the following questions this way. Please let me know if this is right and if there is anything I can do if this is wrong. Thanks for your help,
For question 14, Manner of last entry: " Paroled (AOS) " because that is what is stamped in my passport and I94 after my entry into US.
For question 15, Current Immigration status: " H1B Worker " because my H1B is valid till 2010 and I never used my EAD or received my green card.

Hi All,
On 22nd Feb, I received an RFE on my 140 from NSC. There were LUD's for 2 consecutive days and then on 22nd the status changed to RFE..Still awaiting the actual RFE..
I applied in EB2 on July 12th. Infact, my employer applied for a bunch of people on same day. Few of them had approvals this week. I have 6.5+ years of experiance and bachelors in Computer Science..
Any Idea what could the RFE be? I am thinking it may not be ability to pay since few of the employees from the same company had their approvals..
Guru's..Any Idea..Any information will be highly appreciated..
Hi Gc_buddy,
Is your degree a 3-year degree? If yes, most probably the RFE would require you to prove that your CS degree is equivalent to US's 4-year degree.
