How is this any differernt than posting a pic of you at a bar or a pic of something while on vacation from your iPhone (or other phone). Even without this Places feature its easy to figure out who isnt at home.
This would be a lot better because you won't have to take a picture of yourself at the bar (with your hair all jacked up, a girl who isn't your wife beside you in the picture, and 8 empty bottles of beer in the background).

START FOCUSING ON CS APPS! Damn... My mac mini g4 works faster converting my raw to jpeg files than my c2d iMac! I know you need to compete with Apple... but focus on your current products that are in need of updating to Universal code for the professionals that rely on them!

I thought so too but in the review he said they used the Places feature out in and around DC so it was working in DC for the testing:

No, it has now been confirmed. At the time I posted that comment, it was just speculated, but Microsoft has now confirmed pricing and availability of the older Xbox.
As of right now, Microsoft is no longer making original 360s. Every 360 they build is the new one. So, if you really want the older one, you only have a limited time until stock of them is gone.
They also announced price drops for both of the older consoles as well. The current Arcade unit is dropping from $199 down to $149, and the current Elite is dropping from $299 down to $249. I would guess those prices will stay like that until the holiday season, and then any remaining stock of them at that point will be cleared out.

Somehow, I knew you would reply like you did. Again, I have a job in an actual data center as a systems administrator. Let me tell you, I know the real story. ;) And it's not just my company. Go take a look around and see how many shops use Windows to run their SAP environnements. Their peoplesoft stuff. Heck, just their lowly Oracle installations.
And who said I was talking about Enterprise Macs ? My Unix boxes cost well over 100k$ a piece.

Because Office 2010 uses MAPI. Its WebDAV that has gone away.
It has NOTHING to do with protocol. If Windows Office uses MAPI, put MAPI in Mac Office. It's not rocket science. Point being - it CAN be done somehow. The iMac 27" is my favorite.. none of the all-in-ones it's compared to are even the same size on that chart. Even if you build a computer with the same equipment it's more:

Apple is a business, and its not only a possibility but expected to withhold features from products to help sell other products.
Your analogy is not as black and white as you portray it. Air conditioning is a feature that many many cars have. To not include it would be a deal breaker for almost every customer out there. Meanwhile lets say leather interior was a feature that was standard on another model it would make you think twice when thinking which model to buy either between that of the same brand (in this case ford) or another lets say Nissan. If you wanted to use your same analogy in this situation it would be if Apple choose to withhold a trackpad on the laptop.
Same thing here. BL KB is a feature that is not too standard on ALL laptops. Its more or less a luxury feature that differentiates itself from not only other Apple laptops but other companies laptops.
But to take it away ... after it had long be a 'standard' feature, that's what's vexing. That's all I'm saying. It's weird to make one part of your product line go backwards (after so many years of having the feature) in order to all the sudden assert that the rest of the line is now 'luxary'.
Usually, yesterday's luxaries become tomorrows 'standard' feature. It's downright inane to go backwards in that regard.
And I'll go with your analogy. If apple suddenly took away trackpads on their lower end laptops and declared it a luxary feature... we'd all be pissed as hell. I really don't see how this is any different.

I would love to see either a 13" MBP or a 13" MB with the option for discrete graphics, though a lower quality card (e.g. Rad X1300/1400 compared to the MBP Rad X1600). My preference would be for the 13" MBP as I prefer the compactness of the 13" form factor but would use the ExpressCard slot (for a modem and ESATA card interchangeably)--yes, I live in BFE :( and have no access to high-speed connections--and I don't see Apple offering a MB with an ExpressCard slot AND discrete graphics. I would pay around 1700 or so for such a set-up, which would be about right in light of the pricing for the MBP 15"

This is the case: I have three folding widgets running for over a week now, no problem in that week. I have three because I want to monitor someone behind me (Atszyman) and my next overtake in front of me. But when I just looked all three widgets where on Atszyman.
I routinely hack into your dual G5 and make sure that you get lots of Tinkers. This way I don't feel like I'm hindering the effort but I can still cripple you...:D
