I'm just waiting for Lion to come out, then I am buying an 11" MBA. However, I would like to see a Thunderbolt port next to the power port so I won't have to stretch cables to both sides of the MBA when using a Cinema Display.
My guess is that if there is a Thunderbolt port, and the Cinema Display is updated to utilize a Thunderbolt cable, the USB cable would be unnecessary. That would be pretty slick.

just started folding again - made my self a new account and changed teams to mac rumors - at the moment im only at about 1/3 folding power about (1100 ppd) Sunday or Monday will be adding my new main mac to the team :)

If you want just the email account then yes, .Mac is not worth it. That's the point. .Mac is more than email, and if you want an email address, get Gmail and hook it up into Mail.app....
Are you saying you're happy it costs $99? You don't want to pay less, no? :rolleyes: The more complaining and bad feedback we give Apple that this service is simply too expensive the better, and the better chance we have they will begin to pay attention to loads (http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=.Mac%20too%20expensive&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8) of posts/blogs/and stories on this. I feel sick when I have to tell someone how much it costs. I mean they say .Mac syncing is included! You have to pay to sync computers that you payed money for, and worse still you have to give it to the company you bought the computers from?? Give me a break! GMail is free too. iWeb provides little bandwidth, and the whole this is wrapped-up with a tiny storage package. And I don't think the solution is for Apple to give us more storage. I would prefer a cheaper price to more storage any-day. If you want moe storage then you pay $99, otherwise this should cost no more than $49 per year. At the VERY MOST!!

I agree with most of what you say, except.... I don't get the "Shoot only Full Manual" advice that is heard here and in other places.

Well shooting manual works for what I do. I doubt any sports photographers use anything other than Aperture Priority mode I would think.
I should add that I've done my fair share of large-format work. Doesn't get more manual than that! And I certainly pop back into manual on occasion.

It's too much to keep in mind when you don't have a good workflow, and then it's frustrating to get so many bad shots. I like telling people to concentrate on one thing, then when that's comfortable move to another aspect (so DoF, then Shutter Speeds - generally.) Maybe full Manual when you've gotten past the big 'N' (for New Shooter) sticker on the camera bag until you're so comfortable with the camera that you can use Av & Tv efficiently and productively.
But never Auto, well not usually.... Though I do tend to leave the camera on Auto when it's in the bag so that if the UFO lands in front of me all I have to do is turn the thing on and point and snap. :)

I prefer running it on the Mac - main reason: I don't run Parallels all the time - only when I have to develop windows stuff, otherwise it's always turned off (less used memory)

My old Trek 930 mountain bike is one of the last Treks made in the US before they outsourced most of their production overseas. For a replacement I am looking into US-made bikes.
I have a Japanese car (made in Japan), my previous car was Japanese but made in the US.
I try to buy US-made when I can, and in particular I like to support local or regional products. But at the same time I don't feel guilty about buying foreign-made products. You don't have to be obsessive about "buying American" in order to make a help support domestic producers of goods.

I like this one! I tried that a while back but it wasn't as successful as yours. Maybe the keyboard would be better positioned not quite so close to the left hand edge imo. Well done though!
Same issue of lack of sun over here, too. I like the feel of this posed shot. I think it would be a bit stronger if the watch face were more visible. It's kind of hard to tell if the time is the same. Shooting this with something like a pocket watch on the sundial would be interesting, too. Similar shape but different "mechanisms".

I also wonder how a rectangular crop would look that brought us in closer to the sundail and the watch.

But getting back on topic, :) I think this is a great idea. Especially if you listen to long podcasts like I do that can take about way over an hour per podcast. It'll be great for long cross-country flights, that's to be sure.

Not everyone will want to install BOTH updates.
everyone WILL have to install both updates, you can not update the SMC until you update the EFI, the SMC wont even show up in Software Update until the EFI is done
