I do not know who recieved my package as the lawyer didn't say anything about it. July 2nd filer. No Receipt Notice yet. I40 appoved. PD - 5th aug 2004.

how do i check if my name is stuck in fbi namecheck or cleared? Just callin USCIS will provide the info or is there anythin to be done.

I tend to believe the CIR angle to this. Since, teh time CIR has failed, these Rumours have surfaced.....

I thought he might say something stupid about the Hindu Prayer disruption in Senate yesterday. However he didn't bring it up. But the way it's been going his "faux pas" (anti-Italian remarks during Italian parade in Little Italy, anti-Latino, anti-Indian and anti-Chinese remarks such as "socio-ethnic interest groups", "foriegn" and "cheap labor", "Communist China" and ofcourse the 7000 lepers in 3 years...) are all building up and sooner or later something will give.

I think if you have I-551 stamped on your passport then you do not need any other document. i-551 is as good as physical green-card. You can carry the approval notice with you. This is my opinion, do no quote on me.

I had the same issue...
Here is the short version of how it unfolded. I've seen some quick responses from USCIS.
9/15/2010 - USCIS email indicating that cards mailed for both me and spouse
9/16/2010 - Spouse received card
9/21/2010 - Got email (LUD) that my card returned undelivered.
9/22/2010 - Called customer service updated the address
9/23/2010 - Got my card in mail (wrapped in an usps priority envelope) with tracking number
I was pleasantly surprised with the fastness of USCIS.
Thanks,
Now my status changed to 'Initial Review' because post office returned my mail :confused: Within 12 hrs status changed from 'Card Production' (05.03 PM) to 'Initial Review' (06.33 AM).
I had updated my new address 3 yrs before and was confirmed by infopass appointment.

It is not too late to write the letter, it is never too late to write the letter!!
Since the letters are only requesting fixing of the interpretation of the law, and not the law itself, there really is no fixed deadlines involved. Of course, sooner it is done, the better our chances are for moving forward.

i got no email, no slip, so i dont know if its stuck in PIMS or some checks ???
And if its really NOT PIMS and something else, then how long does one estimate ?? how long could an administrative processing take ? how long could security check take ? how long could name check take ? etc etc..

Plans touted by Justice and Home Affairs Commissioner Franco Frattini, the man charged with developing common immigration policies for the European Union, range from a new EU-wide "green card" that would allow skilled workers already in the 25-nation bloc to change countries without extra paperwork, to special temporary permits for seasonal workers.
"The U.S. and Australia have stricter rules, but they get the right people to immigrate, and once they're in, they integrate them, and give them benefits, education and citizenship" much faster than in the EU, Mr. Frattini said in an interview.
We should try to educate Mr Miller on the US process.

Please don't get pissed with people telling you right or wrong. My take on EB-3 issue is write to Rep. Zoe Lofgren in large number, as far as I know she understand the Retrogression mess as a whole, but she's not aware the typicle problem faced by EB-3 because of the asylum(245i) given by the congress. If she would use this logic, she can go farther...
Some one gave me this comment saying
Show me where have I undermined IV efforts? And show me nonsensical or counterproductive posts that I have made -- that is, nonsensical or counterproductive to the cause of upholding the law (not pandering to a particular employment category/chargeability area).
I have done my homework, and I have understood the law properly. I have time and again given logical proof, along with the text of the law, as to why EB3 is eligible get the EB1 numbers at the same time as EB2. On the other hand none of the detractors have provided proof, or material that shows EB3 does not qualify.
And for all those holier-than-thou EB2, what is about the letter campaign to get NSC/TSC to process application according to PDs (no lawful basis for that), and asking the removal of NSC bosses and what not. You seem to have different standards when you are suffering, and when others are suffering. There is a word in the dictionary for that, look it up.

It may be illegal to disqualify a candidate who has EAD with validity for the required amount of time. But I sure can ask about the details within legal limits, can't I?

This makes sense, since the employer does not have any authority to check for this candidate's ability to renew the authorization, neither the candidate is obligated to share that information. Per DHS & DOL once you have valid EAD, you are good to go! I am curious though who should be responsible for educating these employers!:confused:

However, if there is so much noise over immigration in general, then atleast there is hope of comprehensive immigration bill being considered by Senate which will lead to overall comprehensive legislation -- a vehicle that can carry legal immigration reform also.

cir failed because the senate did not have a filibuster proof majority (60) to pass cir. This time the democrats are expected to gain 4 to 5 seats in the senate, that will take there majority to 54 or 55 from the current 50 (49 +liberman). With a majority of 54 or 55 the filibuster will not happen again in senate and cir will pass in the senate.
The difference between Bush and obama in calling for cir is that Bush was an unpopular lame duck president, his party was a minority in both the house and senate. Obama if elected president would have the democrats in control of both the house and senate, therefore when obama says he wants to pass cir, it will happen, so take it seriously and dont live in a fantasy that CIR will fail again.
to all those people who cliam that cir won't be bad, please, please name some provisions that were good for Eb immigrants. Please dont use words like "hope", might" etc,durbin wants to knock the living daylights out of EB immigrants. I want to know if there was anything good in cir, not good things you hope to be in cir
